Abdulla Matar Al Mannai, Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates Auction, disclosed that the company has established an electronic marketplace that attracts the interest and engagement of more than 1.3 million bidders, with their preferences differing based on the types of goods presented in the auctions.
He stated that Emirates Auction has devised an ambitious expansion plan to meet the growing demand for its services and to enter new markets, building on the significant successes it has achieved since its inception and the expertise it has gained. This has enabled the company to secure a prominent position among the leading auction specialists in the region.
In an interview with the Emirates News Agency, Al Mannai added that the company plans to venture into new sectors within the current year. This expansion strategy includes entering the Saudi and Kuwaiti markets to organize auctions in the automotive, real estate, and distinctive number plate sectors. He emphasized that the company’s excellence in its operations has made it the top choice for auctioneers across the UAE, capturing 95% of the auction market in the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain. He affirmed that the company’s strategy prioritizes customer satisfaction and maximizing returns for clients, whether they are individuals, entities, or corporations.
Al Mannai revealed that in 2017, the company recorded an increase in its revenues compared to the previous year. He also noted a steady rise in the number of bidders during the same period, with a 46% increase over 2016, as reported by the UAE’s Al Bayan newspaper.
He further stated that the number of downloads of the company’s app on the Apple Store reached 126,000, a 9% increase from the previous year’s 116,000 downloads. Meanwhile, downloads on the Android platform totaled 168,000, marking a 15% rise from the 146,000 downloads recorded in 2016.
Al Mannai explained that, in its efforts to delight its customers, the company intends to revamp its smart application. As part of its expansion plan, Emirates Auction aims to increase the number of auction yards, enhance vehicle inspection and transportation services, expand customer service offices, and offer vehicle insurance and registration services.
He highlighted a qualitative achievement by the company: the development of the “Electronic Judicial Delegation System,” which has had a significant positive impact by saving considerable time, effort, and costs for the UAE’s courts. He elaborated that this new system allows all delegations between courts to be processed as if they were within the same court, streamlining procedures and reducing time.
