The special license plate auction, organized by the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police and Emirates Auction, was held on Saturday evening at Emirates Palace for those wishing to acquire unique license plate numbers.
Among the standout participants was Abdullah, age 11, who was one of the youngest bidders in the auction. He acquired three plates at a significant cost, according to the UAE-based Al Bayan newspaper.
Abdullah’s participation was not for entertainment; his goal was to bid on distinctive plate numbers, ultimately purchasing three plates for a total of AED 22 million.
His first purchase was plate number “11,” bought for AED 6.15 million, followed by plate number “7” for AED 13.4 million, and then plate number “11111” for AED 1.88 million.
Abdullah noted he was keen to own a plate bearing the number “7” specifically, because it symbolizes the seven emirates.
