The “Most Noble Number” charity auction for distinguished numbers, organised by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in Dubai, raised AED 1,136,221,000 in support of the “Edge of Life” campaign, which aims to save 5 million children worldwide from the risk of dying from hunger.
The auction recorded AED 91,405,000, while the total pledges and donations accompanying the event reached AED 1,044,816,000, representing charitable contributions made by organisations during the Ramadan suhoor held alongside the auction, in support of the “Edge of Life” initiative.
The humanitarian charity evening was attended by a select group of business leaders, philanthropists, and supporters of charitable work. Attendees competed to purchase distinguished vehicle plate numbers and mobile numbers, reflecting the strong engagement with the humanitarian initiatives led by the UAE.
Dubai’s single-digit plate number 6 DD, issued by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), achieved the highest price in the auction after being sold for AED 37,000,000. The sales also included several other premium plates sold for millions of dirhams, contributing to raising the auction proceeds for the humanitarian initiative.
The auction also offered a set of premium mobile numbers from du and e&, where the highest-selling mobile number reached approximately AED 4,500,000, while the lowest-selling number recorded AED 45,000, amid strong competition to acquire distinguished numbers in support of the initiative’s humanitarian goals.
In addition, Saeed Al Eter, CEO of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, affirmed that the UAE continues to reinforce its position as a global hub for humanitarian work, and that giving in the country is not a seasonal initiative or a secondary activity, but a deeply rooted value and a core part of the nation’s and society’s value system.
He made these remarks during a speech delivered at the opening of “Most Noble Number 2026”, a humanitarian charity evening attended by leading business figures, media representatives, and personalities from various sectors supporting charitable work, under the umbrella of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. He expressed his hope that this evening would be among the most successful humanitarian nights hosted by the initiatives.
He explained that the UAE has proven its ability to continue progressing despite various circumstances and challenges, saying: “Life in the UAE continues and is stronger than all circumstances and challenges. The humanitarian approach adopted by the country reflects its leadership’s vision of supporting people wherever they are.”
Al Eter noted that the UAE does not only protect and care for more than 10 million people living on its land—citizens and residents—but that its humanitarian efforts extend to millions of children around the world through initiatives and programmes launched by Emirati humanitarian institutions.
He also spoke about the “Edge of Life” humanitarian campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which aims to save 5 million children under the age of five from dying of hunger, in addition to working to prevent around 30 million children from slipping into severe acute malnutrition that may lead to death. He emphasised that this humanitarian initiative seeks to achieve a major impact through the participation and support of attendees and partners.
He extended his thanks and appreciation to all supporters and contributors for helping make this initiative a success, commending the role of Badr Jafar, the Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Humanitarian Affairs, and also thanking Abdullah Al Mannaei, Chairman of Emirates Auction.
He praised the continued support from a number of entities and institutions, including the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Emirates Telecommunications, and du, in recognition of their annual contributions to humanitarian work.
He also thanked all attendees for their support and participation, stressing that such initiatives reflect the spirit of human solidarity that distinguishes the UAE and help create a real impact in the lives of millions of children worldwide.
