Most Noble Numbers Auction Supporting 100 Million Meals Raises 50 Million AED

Held on Zayed Humanitarian Day (19th Ramadan), the charity auction broke the record for the second most expensive vehicle plate number ever sold, reaffirming the values of giving, helping the distressed, and supporting those in need—ideals instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the Founding Fathers, which have become a global model of charitable and humanitarian work without discrimination based on race, religion, or geography.

A group of special Dubai vehicle plate numbers was featured at the charity auction, most notably the single-digit plate number AA9, which sold for 38 million AED, making it the second most expensive plate number worldwide ever sold at a public auction. The fierce competition to acquire this unique number underscored the participants’ commitment to supporting the “100 Million Meals” initiative, which provides food aid from the UAE to those in need in 30 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America during Ramadan.

The three double-digit vehicle plate numbers U31, T38, and E51 each fetched significant sums: 2.6 million AED for U31, 2.8 million AED for T38, and 2.45 million AED for E51.

Mobile Phone Numbers

The auction also featured five special mobile phone numbers from Etisalat: 0569999999, 0569999993, 0549999993, 0565555556, and 0545555558. These drew enthusiastic bidding due to their repeating patterns. Number 0569999999 sold for 3 million AED, 0569999993 for 150,000 AED, 0549999993 for 100,000 AED, 0565555556 for 260,000 AED, and 0545555558 for 130,000 AED.

While the total proceeds of the nine special vehicle plate and mobile phone numbers reached 48.5 million AED, additional donations from attendees brought the final sum to 50.45 million AED.
