The Sharjah Department of Public Works has signed a memorandum of understanding with Emirates Auction, a company specialized in organizing and managing public and online auctions in the Middle East. Under this agreement, the company will organize the Department’s auctions and facilitate electronic public auctions, aiming to develop the mechanism for launching the Department’s online bids and attract a larger number of companies to submit price offers in line with the financial valuations of the assets designated for auction.
This was announced during a press conference held by the Department at its headquarters on Thursday morning. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Eng. Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Public Works, and Omar Matar Al Mannaei, CEO of Emirates Auction, in the presence of Fatima Hassan, Director of the Contracts Department, along with various media representatives.
Under this memorandum, Emirates Auction will leverage its expertise and experience to streamline and expedite the public auction process using various methods and mechanisms, employing the latest systems and innovative techniques that meet the highest standards of security and user-friendliness. This aims to complete the procedures for selling and transferring assets as efficiently as possible while securing maximum returns for the Department.
Enhancement
Eng. Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi stated that the agreement, which will run for three years, seeks to strengthen the framework of collaboration between both parties in organizing the Department’s online auctions. Its draft was approved by the Executive Council of the Emirate, and it reflects the Department’s efforts to deliver top-quality services to its public according to the best standards and provide equal opportunities for all — especially companies wishing to participate in bidding.
Therefore, the Department has engaged the largest and most reputable auction company in the UAE — Emirates Auction — for its extensive experience in organizing online auctions and its leadership and specialization in this field at the national level.
Valuable Addition
For his part, Omar Matar Al Mannaei noted that the agreement aims to enhance cooperation in organizing public auctions, with Emirates Auction committed to implementing best practices and standards in a highly efficient and user-friendly manner. This will ensure significant returns for the Sharjah Department of Public Works at competitive prices and achieve high customer satisfaction by using the finest global bidding systems. He added that partnering with the Department represents a valuable addition to Emirates Auction’s roster of partners and demonstrates the level of confidence in the company’s reputation, performance, and services both locally and regionally.
Meanwhile, Fatima Hassan explained that signing this memorandum benefits everyone and achieves the intended objectives, as public auctions will be presented electronically through open, direct online, and smart platforms, allowing participants from across the UAE to bid easily and conveniently.
Through this agreement with Emirates Auction, the Sharjah Department of Public Works aims to adopt the world’s best practices in selling various types of tangible assets, delivering benefits to the community and generating returns that can be invested in other useful areas.
